Trái với dự đoán, Trent Alexander-Arnold vẫn được giữ lại trong danh sách đội tuyển Anh dự EURO 2020. Những cầu thủ bị HLV Gareth Southgate loại là James Ward-Prowse, Ollie Watkins, Jesse Lingard, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Ben Godfrey and Mason Greenwood.
Trong đó, Greenwood chủ động thông báo rút lui từ trước do tiền đạo của Manchester United muốn tập trung điều trị dứt điểm chấn thương.
